We are just weeks from the November 5 election. The best way we can send a message to the Democrats of this country is to support progressive and third party candidates. These are people who stand by their convictions and don’t cater to the corporate powers that control the Democrats and Republicans. The best way to build a third party movement is to fill local and state offices with third party candidates. The Democrats will also start seeing that they can be liberal and still win elections. Perhaps then they will fight for what they claim to believe in.

There is tangible excitmement in this district of 100,000, about the real possibility of a citizen-backed candidate actually winning. Essentially, there are three Democrats and Linda Schade, a Green, running for three at-large seats (four candidates for three seats). Linda has an incredible team that has been pounding the pavement since February, and we are poised literally on the edge of victory - and a sea change in Maryland politics. There is only one thing that stands between the Schade campaign and victory--getting the message out to every voter. Even in a grassroots campaign, literature and mailings cost money! Schade's fundraising has been quite successful: more than $28,000. However, Schade is still being outspent 10 to 1 by the corporate-backed Democratic slate.
